scales

songs i love the most right now:

hysteria--yeah yeah yeahs (or the entire it's blitz! album. amazing. karen o is brilliant)
no you girls--franz ferdinand
paris--friendly fires (it's true, everyone wants to be in paris. you can find me a nice parisian boy and i'll find you a nice parisian girl.)
geraldine-- glasvegas
crosseyed--the morning benders
dustland fairytale--the killers (it makes me think of epic music videos that are good and not crummy like they are now)
partie traumatic--black kids
get better--mates of state( just a drum set and some keyboards. awesome)
young adult friction--the pains of being pure at heart (melodic, delicious and youthful!)

after school is finished, because thinking so far ahead during stressful school times is what i do, i want to have a few movie marathons. i feel like i have severely neglected movies for a couple of reasons. firstly, tv on dvd owns my life if i ever want to pop something into my dvd player. secondly, i find watching movies at home on my smallish tv incomparable to watching movies in a theatre. they are meant to be watched in the theatre, on that giant screen, and i always determine my favourites in theatres upon first viewing. some of the most cherished movies i've ever seen i watched first in the theatre and i think it has to do with the whole movie watching experience. but this is really rather off topic.

my movie marathons:
-
star wars 1-6: dilemma: do i got 1-3 first or 4-6 first in order of production or story? story makes more sense, clearly.
-john cusack: this includes another showing of
say anything with high fidelity and that's really all i've got so far for john cusack. america's sweethearts, must love dogs and a bevy of other crappy early 00's movies did not make the cut.
-cameron crowe: i've got
say anything on there but i must add almost famous as well elizabethtown, again.
-high school: there are a handful of movies that i loved, or found love for, during high school. these movies are still captivating to me and rekindle some sort of adolescent feelings in me. nostalgia, i believe it's called. these movies include:
swing kids, moulin rouge, phantom of the opera, brokeback mountain and casablanca. it's a weird mix, i know, but nonetheless some of my favourites still to this day.

don't even get me started on the books i am going to read this summer. let's say it starts with the bookshelf in my room, including everything on it, moving onto classics and other books of interest i do not own. thank god i have a library card.
