to put gus into perspective for those who still don't "get" him he is, in such crass terms, similar to that of the famous traveling gnome. he has, indeed, been to many place that i haven't ever been to before in my life. he likes england a lot, gone four times, twice with me; he's been to france twice, spain, new york twice and all across the united states on two separate road trips to either coast. one time, on his way to california, he was injured on his tale by means of it almost melting off. he permanently has a strawberry shortcake band aid on it to keep him together.but will always treat his two loves with great respect. pictured here is ava with gus in the shakespeare pub in victoria, london. ava is one of the two people he loves the most; the other is laura.
pictured here in a deli with amy in the disgusting new york city heat way back when, gus is deep in conversation because at heart he is a conversationalist. he's always ready to discuss anything you want to talk about. he is a great listener.
this is a perfect example of gus at his worst. he likes to pick fights with people and/or things when he knows he won't win. there's glass separating the two of them, thank goodness, or things would have ended badly for our hero.
he always seems to get the girls in the end.
he's even made friends abroad! when he visited durham the first time he was so consumed in british culture that he now has developed a drinking problem.
but that's okay because even those who do not know him intitmately will always be there for him.
he likes to catch up with old friends when he travels.

on his days off gus likes to read, which is perfectly fitting because he was found in the kids section of chapters eons ago. he lived in the manager's office for sometime in-between traveling gigs until he went to his rightful home. he was never suited for the hyprocrisy and corruption of hellish book-a-rama. onto bigger and better things!
we should live like gus, as adventurers.
to gustav,
love sarah macdonald.
